Obituary.
Mrs. William Drew died at the home of her son Mr. William Drew near Cresco, June 6th. On Sunday, June 1, after attending church in Cresco she received a stroke of paralysis from the effects of which she died later.
The funeral was from the Catholic church on Saturday morning and the remains were taken to the West Ridge cemetery for interment.
The deceased was born in the county of Tiperary, Ireland, in 1834, and came to this country when 17 years of age. She was united in marriage with Mr. William Drew in 1854 and settled in Winneshiek county where they lived for 32 years; from there they moved to Howard county in 1894. The union was blessed with thirteen children; seven of them and her husband died in Winneshiek county, six of them are living, four boys and two girls: John, Dan, Michael and William and Mary, all of Cresco, and Mrs. Thomas Tierney, of Idaho; all of those are left to mourn her loss. All her children were present at the time of her death. It is hard to part with you, dear mother, but we hope God has called you to a far brighter home.
CARD OF THANKS:
We return sincere thanks to all the friends and neighbors who assisted us in our trouble.
