Passed Away.
Harlow S. Webster, who has been in failing health for some time, passed away Sunday morning. Funeral from his late residence Monday afternoon. Interment in Oak Lawn. He was 87, his last birthday, in April. Obituary later.

HARLOW SHARP WEBSTER.
Harlow Sharp Webster was born in Cayuga county, N. Y., March 16, 1815. His childhood days were spent with his parents in the Empire State. While still a small boy he removed with his parents to Richland county, Ohio. Here he lived until he was nineteen years old. In the spring of 1834 he journied{sic} overland with his parents as far west as Joilet,{sic} Ill. But in 1836 he moved to LaPorte, Ind., where he made his home until he moved with his family to Iowa.
On Nov. 10, 1842 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Jane Black, of LaPorte, Ind. To this union there was born three children, Ellen Mary, Alice, and Calista. Ellen died Aug. 17, 1844, and Alice died July 16, 1865. While a resident of LaPorte Mr. Webster was actively engaged in the stock business and farming. At the beginning of the civil war Mr. Webster was for sometime engaged as enrolling officer in the employ of the government. In 1878, Mr. and Mrs. Webster determined to follow Mr. Webster’s brothers and cast their fortunes in the state of Iowa. Accordingly, in the spring of ’78 they removed to Howard county. In March of 1896 Mrs. Webster died.
While still a young man in Indiana, Mr. Webster united with the Baptist church, and in 1896 he united with the Baptist church of Cresco.
For many years Mr. Webster has made his home with his son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wilbraham. For the past seven years he has been almost an invalid and has been tenderly cared for at the home of his daughter. For a week prior to his death he gradually failed and at ten minutes of six on Sunday morning, May 18th, he passed away. In his immediate family he is mourned by two brothers and a daughter, and a host of relatives and friends who knew and admired the kindly spirit of our departed friend.
Funeral services were held at the home of his daughter Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. O. H. Holmes of the Cong’l church and Rev. J. B. Smith of the Baptist church. Interment was in Oaklawn.
