John “Butch” Fritcher, age 76, of Lime Springs, IA passed away Friday, June 22, 2018, at Regional Health Services of Howard County in Cresco. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday, June 29th, at the Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga, Iowa with Pastor Dan Christiansen officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, June 28 at Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville.
John Edward "Butch" Fritcher was born May 26, 1942, in Riceville, IA, the son of John W. "Jack" and Ruth (Loden) Fritcher. He graduated from Riceville High School in 1960. On December 13, 1969, he married Beverly Harden at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union three children were born: Terry, Brenda and Becky.
Butch enjoyed being around people, evidenced by his long career as a John Deere salesman. He dearly loved his family and tried to get to as many of his children and gran-children's school events as possible. Retirement also found him bird watching, cussing the squirrels raiding his bird feeders, maintaining his yard and flowers, and socializing with old friends and new at the Togie Pub on a regular basis. He also loved attending local parades, an occasional game of cards, going to horse shows, horse auctions, and reading the latest issue of "Draft Horse Journal".
Butch is survived by his wife Beverly of Lime Springs, son: Terry (Kimberly) Fritcher of Central City, IA, daughters: Brenda (Daryl) Joens of New Haven, IA and Becky Fritcher (Chuck Larson) of Chester, IA.Seven grandchildren: Emma and Ali Fritcher, Bailey, Jenna and Jackson Joens, and Madalyn (Madi) and Charlotte (Charli) Fritcher-Larson. He is also survived by one brother, Pete Fritcher of Lime Springs, IA, two sisters: Jo Ann (Dennis) Fox of Rochester, MN and Janet (LeRoy) Dahlke of Riceville, IA, two aunts: Emma Seckar of Elma, IA and Alice "Millie" Loden of Buffalo, WY, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sisters and his father and mother in-law: Warren and Pauline Harden.
