Mrs. Isaac Phifer died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. Tibbals north of the old town of Lime Springs. The funeral will be held at the M. E. church in Chester, Thursday at 11 o’clock a. m. Mrs. Phifer has been ailing ever since her husband had his pension taken away, over one year ago, and worry with the death of her husband in June, has been the cause of her loosing her mind. She leaves to mourn her loss seven children, three sons and four daughters. Chester has lost in the past year five of its oldest citizens, all of them having past the three score and ten life mark.

Transcriber’s Note: Chester Hill Cemetery information shows this was Savillah Clair Phifer. Her gravestone shows she was born July 28, 1830 and died October 30, 1900.
