W. C. Brown died at the home of his mother in the west part of the city Sunday morning, aged 43 years. He grew from boyhood to man’s estate in this county, was for several years clerk in Dr. Clemmers drug store; established himself in the drug business in Elma, going to Spokane, Washington, where he remained some years, returning to this locality some four or five years ago. Some three weeks ago he came to Cresco sick, and was taken to his mother’s, where after a run of fever he passed away. The funeral will be held Tuesday (to-day), at 10 o’clock a. m., at the house, the interment In New Oregon cemetery. He leaves a widow, an aged mother, four brothers, two sisters and numerous relatives to mourn his untimely death.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone shows his first name as William and he was born in 1856.
