We learn that Josiah Long, formerly of this place, died at Larchwood, Iowa, last August, aged about 70 years. He had two children here, Mrs. M. A. Kline and Miss Emma Long, and a son at Elkader and Mr. Frank E. Long, the popular showman. Neither of the children knew of death until recently.

Transcriber’s Note: His gravestone shows he was born in 1818 and died August 23, 1899.
