Obituary.
Mrs. Louise Schuhmacker was born in Engenbach, Germany, on the 13th day of March 1834. She was baptized in her infancy after the rites of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, attended public school to the age of 14 and was then confirmed in the same church. In 1863 she came to New York and there became acquainted with Mr. Frederick Schuhmacker and was married to him in 1868. In the same year they moved to Dayton, Ohio, and lived there until 1879, when they moved to Bonair, Iowa.
They had four children born to them, 2 daughters and 2 sons, only one son surviving the mother. The deceased did not feel well throughout the fall, but was able to be up and around. About two weeks ago she was taken ill with the asthma and died quietly Saturday at 11 o’clock a.m. The funeral took place Tuesday, Jan. 9, 1900, the remains being taken to the Bonair Cemetery. Funeral services was held by Rev. C. Niedermeier in the German language and by the Methodist minister of Bonair in English.
Deceased was 65 years 9 months and 6 days old and leaves a husband and son and daughter-in-law to mourn her loss.
