Funeral Services were held for Dale Zobeck on Saturday, September 28, 2002 at the United Lutheran Church in Chester, Iowa. Rev. Dan Christensen officiated the service with interment in the Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga, Iowa.
Dale Zobeck, 80, died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at the Colonial Manor in Elma, Iowa.
Zobeck was born on May 29, 1922 in Howard County, the son of Louis and Anna (Horejsi) Zobeck. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lime Springs, Iowa. On June 10, 1948, he was united in marriage to Shirley Ross at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home in the Saratoga area. Dale was a farmer for many years, and he played the drums in the band, Cousin Merle’s and the Mapleleaf Cowboys.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, two sons Gary (Sharon) Zobeckv of Elma, Iowa and Marc Zobeck of Lime Springs, Iowa; two daughters, Nancy (Curtis) Taylor of Ennis, Tex. and Ann Zobeck of Des Monies,{sic} Iowa; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother John Zobeck of New Hampton, Iowa and three sisters; Katherine Drtina of Cresco, Iowa, Dorothy Bartels of Rochester, Minn, and Lucille Wolfe of Chester, Iowa.
Zobeck is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles Zobeck and a half brother, Nelson Zobeck.
