ELMA -- Dolores E. Palmersheim, 86, Elma, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002 at Colonial Manor, Elma of natural causes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26 at Immaculate Conception Church, Elma with Reverend John Hemann officiating. Sr. Lenore Gardner will be the organist and will accompany the soloist Michele Palmersheim singing “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and the Immaculate Conception Church Choir singing "Here I Am Lord", "Be Not Afraid" and "Only A Shadow".
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Elma with Robert, Kenneth, Francis, Patrick and Richard Palmersheim serving as casket bearers.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at Conway Funeral Home, Elma, where there will be a 4 p.m. Rosary and 7 p.m. Scripture Service.
Dolores Elizabeth Palmersheim was born Oct. 20, 1915 in Afton Twp., Howard County, the daughter of Thomas H. and Abigail (O'Connell) McGrane. She graduated from Immaculate Conception School in 1933. She worked in Austin, MN for several years prior to marriage. On April 22, 1937 she married Mathias J. Palmersheim in Immaculate Conception Church, Elma. She worked at Colonial Manor, Elma for a year and was the librarian at the Elma Library for eight years. She also taught catechism at IC parish for about ten years. She was a member of the IC Choir and Rosary Society.
Survivors include five sons, Robert (Karen), Lawler, Kenneth (Penny), Lakeville, MN, Francis (Carol), Sioux City, Patrick (Cindy), Elma and Richard, Palm Desert, CA; 15 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Matt, on July 3, 2001; two grandsons; a great- grandson; three sisters, Vinette Holler, Leone Rosonke and Rosella McGrane and six brothers, Edward, Vincent, Earl, Melvin, Donald and Adrian McGrane.
