Funeral services for Alice Ott were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1 at St. Joseph’s Worship Center in Cresco with Rev. Henry Charipar officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco. Pallbearers were her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were her greatgrandchildren. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Alice, 77, died Monday, April 29, 2002 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco where she has made her home since December of 2001.
Alice M. Ott was born January 14, 1925 in Milford, IL, the daughter of August and Hazel (Marvin) Krueger. Her parents died when she was a young girl and she came to live with Emma Rock. She attended the rural schools of Howard County.
On March 8, 1945 she married Clyde Rock in Lanesboro, MN. He died on April 13, 1949. On September 16,1950 she married Florian Ott in Cresco. He died on January 17, 1984.
She worked as a waitress most of her life at the Red Hut, Stop Lite, Parkview Cafe, and Country Kitchen.
She enjoyed embroidering, reading, and watching TV.
She is survived by two daughters: Linda Squiers of Gilbert and Gilda Mullen of Cresco; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister: Ruby Ott of Cresco; and one brother: Edward of Hartville, MO.
Alice was preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; one brother: Harry; and two sisters: Loretta Ott and Esther Benson.
