Funeral services for Anthony Kyle were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the Conway Funeral Home in Cresco with Rev. Michael Carey officiating.
Anthony, 84, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Elma after a lingering illness.
Anthony Kirby Kyle was born February 21, 1918 in Schaller, the son of Edward and. Zora (Pippenger) Kyle. He attended school in the Schaller community. At an early age he began farming with his father.
On June 5, 1943 he married Erma Naslund of Galva at the home of her parents. They lived on the Kyle farm for 20 years. In February of 1963 they moved to Greenwood, WI as they were in the dairy business. Later they owned two other dairy farms in Wisconsin. In 1979 they gave up dairying and went into the motel business. They owned and operated several motels in Iowa. In the fall of 1994 they retired and moved to an acreage near Lime Springs.
He is survived by his wife Erma of Lime Springs; two sons: Roger of Woodbury, MN and Randy of Madison, WI; and four grandchildren.
