Bernice King, 84, of Elma, Iowa passed away Friday, May 24, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Elma, Iowa.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville, Iowa.
Bernice was born April 8, 1918 in Clayton County, Iowa, daughter of Frederick and Selma Lenth Seidel. She attended local schools. She was united in marriage to Marreld King on October 9, 1940 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Riceville, Iowa. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband Marreld of Elma, Iowa; four sons, Frederick and his wife Sharon of Charles City; Duane and his wife Cleone of Floyd; Wayne and his wife Deborah of Pensacola, Florida, and Cecil and his wife Kathleen of Robins, Iowa; two daughters, Leona Parish of Cedar Rapids and Darlys Rogers and her husband Richard of Osage; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Seidel and his wife Wilma of Saratoga; and one sister, Milda Willis and her husband Wayne of Mason City; two brothers-in-law, Melvin King and Loren Murphy; two sisters-in-law, Vesta Bergland and Irene Weber; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Delbert; a granddaughter; and a son-in-law, James Parish.Transcriber’s Note: Find-a-Grave indicates she is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Riceville.
