ELMA -- Charlotte K. Heying, 84, New Hampton, formerly of Elma, died of an apparent heart attack on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 at her home.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma with Reverend John Hemann presiding.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Elma.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma where there was a 7 p.m. Scripture Service.
Charlotte Katherine Heying was born March 18, 1918 in Cresco, the daughter of Ray and Nell Brown. She attended school in Cresco and after the death of her mother she stayed home and helped raise her younger brother and sister. She married William Hayes and resided in Cresco until his death in 1950. She then worked several places before marrying David Beaston in 1954. They lived in Bonaire and later in Elma until his death in 1956. Charlotte married Elmer Heying on July 8, 1959 in Elma where they lived until retirement. They then moved to Chatfield, MN for ten years before making their home in New Hampton.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer; seven daughters, Marinell (Ralph) Halweg, Denver, Sharon (Dan) Adelmund, Round Lake Beach, IL, Donna Jacob, Forsyth, MO, Cheri (Ken) Reich, LeCenter, MN, Helen (Tom) Geerts, North Washington, Julie DiLaura, Chatfield, MN and Tammy (Russ) Steffen, Sumner; two sons, Steve (Peg) Beaston, Centralia, MO and Peter (Jane) Heying, Cedar Rapids 27 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands, William Hayes and David Beaston; two grandsons, Scott and Troy Adelmund; a great-grandson, Tyler Ronnei; a brother, Ray (Bud) Brown and a sister, Shirley Hanson.
