Evelyn A. Hart

ELMA -- Evelyn Alice Hart, 81, Elma, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester of natural causes.
Funeral Services were 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3 at United Methodist Church, Elma with Reverend Marshall Monthei officiating. Dr. Curtis Rainy was the organist and accompanied the soloist, Charles Rainy singing "It Took. A Miracle" and those in attendance singing "In The Garden" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee".
Burial was in Howard Cemetery, Elma with Brad Hart, Brett Hart, Bryan Hart, Scott Hart, Roger Schroeder, Pat Schroeder, Danny Schroeder and Allyne Hart serving as casket bearers.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 a t Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma, and also an hour prior to services at the church.
Evelyn Alice Hart was born June 20, 1921 on the Schroeder Farm west of Elma, the daughter of Homer Adam and Myrtle Cora (Diestler) Schroeder. She attended rural school and graduated from Elma Public High School in 1939. On June 26, 1941, she was united in marriage to Dale M. Hart at the Methodist Church in Elma. Following their marriage the couple resided in Cresco for a short time before moving back to Elma, where they resided all of their married life. The couple operated Hart Oil Co. and later Hart Chevrolet, Elma, retiring in 1982. Evelyn was a lifelong member of Elma Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and the Sunday School Superintendent for many years, a member of United Methodist Women's Society, the Ladies Aide and the Friends and
Neighbors Club. She enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques.
Survivors include her husband, Dale M.; a daughter Joyce Ann Hart, Mason City; three sons, Jim Gene (Beckie) Hart, Petersburg, IL, Joe Dean (Cheryl) Hart, Alta Vista and Jerry Linn (Lisa) Hart, Rochester, MN; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Robert (Adeline) Schroeder, Osage, Russell Schroeder, Charles City, Kenneth (Barbara) Schroeder, Albert Lea, MN, Dean (Alice) Schroeder, Chester, Ron (Janet) Schroeder, Long Beach, CA; a sister, Wanda (Ken) Stuber, Columbia, SC; a son-in-law, Steve Galchutt, Hopkins, MN; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Schroeder, Elma and a brother-in- law, Lyle (Joyce Elaine) Hart, Elma.
Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter, Judy Dale Galchutt; a brother, Dale Schroeder and two sisters-in-law, Viola Schroeder and Doris Marie Schroeder.
