Funeral services for Edward Fischbach were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 21 at the Assumption Worship Center in Cresco with Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Cresco. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Edward, 100, died Monday, February 18, 2002 at the Regional Health Services of Howard County Hospital in Cresco.
Edward G. Fischbach was bom October 6, 1901 near Ionia in Chickasaw County, the son of Michael and Matilda (Pitz) Fischbach. Ed attended the rural school in Chickasaw County.
On November 27, 1928 he married Reva O’Halloran in New Hampton. They farmed in Chickasaw County until 1948 when they moved to Howard County and farmed near Schley.
He liked to camp, fish, and garden.
He is survived by one daughter: Lillian Dusheck of Cresco; one grandson; and two greatgrandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife Reva on October 6, 1996; one brother: Peter; and one sister: Helen Cimmyotti.
