Funeral services for Emma Bergan were held on Friday, August 16 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home.
Emma, 101, died Wednesday, August 13, 2002 at the Cresco Care Center where she had lived from August 31, 1994.
Emma Selma Bergan was born in 1900 in Waldorf, MN, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Rusch who immigrated from Pommern, Germany. They were farmers.
She married Elmer Bernhart Bergan in 1920. They lived most of their life in Lime Springs. Selma, as she liked to be called, worked at the egg candling plant for several years.
She is survived by her children: Elmer of Wabasha, MN, Roger of Rochester, MN, Joan Berning of Buffalo, WY, Merna Grecian of Coralville; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-greatgrandchildren.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband Elmer; one son: Merlin; one daughter: Lois Louise Bergan-Midthus; one great grandson; and one great granddaughter.
