Omaha - Pauline Loraine Schutte, age 90, a long-term resident of Omaha, Neb., passed away on Jan. 28, 2018.
Cremation rites have been accorded with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lime Springs, Iowa on July 7, 2018.
She was born on Oct. 20, 1927 to Thomas O. Schutte and Mildred L. (Taylor) Schutte of Lime Springs, the fourth of four daughters.
After graduating from high school, she joined the Army and spent two years in the service, but decided the Army life was not for her. She moved on to Dixon, Ill., where she trained in the photography business. She then moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she worked for Lyle Ramsey Studios, traveling a great deal for this company as a consultant in the management and business of portraits of children, high school students and wedding pictures.
Pauline opened and ran five photography studios in Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Des Moines and Sioux City Iowa, and Omaha.
When she decided to retire she decided to escape the Midwest winters and bought a home in Sun City, Ariz. She divided her time between Omaha and her Arizona homes. She loved golf and spent a great deal of time playing with friends. She was involved in the recreational activities of the retirement park in Arizona and volunteered her help in setting up activities for the residents of Paradise Resort. She enjoyed watching sports on television and was an avid spectator of several sports teams.
She will be missed by her family who always got a chuckle out of Pauline-isms, as she had a way of making us all laugh.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Julia (Lloyd) Schutte and Pearl (Goetsch) Schutte; brothers-in-law, Myron Daily, Henry Goetsch and Willard Lloyd; and one grandniece, Kimberly Helm.
She is survived by her sister, Sarah Josephine (Daily) Schutte; two nephews, Garth (Mary) Goetsch and Thomas (Ann) Daily; six nieces, Judy Lloyd, Joyce (Gene Pisney) Lloyd, Martha (John Rasmusson) Lloyd, Mildred (Marlyn Munn) Daily, Eileen (Darrell Butner) Daily and Lila (Lyle Helm) Goetsch; many grandnieces and grandnephews; and special friend, Faye Ford.
