Died.
CHAPEL.—Maud Emeline, fifth daughter of Edwin and Mary Chapel, was born in California, November 14th 1877 and died August 10, 1899, in 22nd year.
She moved with her parents to Cresco in the spring of 1886, and continued her residence here until death. She was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church at the age of 12 years, and has been a faithful member ever since.
During the past year the dread disease, consumption, made its inroads upon her health. So silent was the approach that not even the members of the family realized that the end was so near. The last week of her life she seemed to lose strength more rapidly and passed away in the full hope of a painless future, on Thursday last, at 4 o’clock p. m.
Maud was of a cheerful and forgiving temperament, leading a happy and guiltleless{sic} life, always trying to make others happy.
