OBITUARY.
MRS. FRED PRANN died in this city, May 23, 1899, of consumption, Mrs. Fred Prann, in her 31st year.
Anna Pukelow was born at Madison, Wis., and moved to Iowa when a little child, living near Cresco with her parents until June 18,1891, when she became the wife of Mr. Fred Prann, who with a little daughter of six years of age, parents and sister are left to mourn her loss.
She had been in feeble health during several years, and about a year-and-a half ago had a severe attack of pleurisy, which probably was the indirect cause of her death; for since that time it has been thought that the dread disease consumption was fastening itself upon her. Being a hard worker and very ambitious, she continued to fulfil{sic} with the utmost care, whet seemed to her to be her daily duties, forgetting the frail body, only anxious to discharge with the utmost precision every obligation.
Finally, her presence was no longer known in the church, at the store, or amidst her friends; it was about April 1st that she became confined to her house, compelled to remain there while the disease continued its deadly work. At five minutes after eight o'clock, May 23rd, she breathed her last, at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs. Puklow, where the funeral services were conducted at three o’clock, Thursday afternoon.
Mrs. Prann was beloved by all who knew her,
She clung tenaciously to life, not that she feared death, she was well prepared for that, but her anxiety was for her friends. When she thought of her earthly home being broken up, her husband bereaved, her kind parents and sister left lonely, and the little girl motherless, she shrank from the thought of death, saying she would surely get well. But it was not to be so; the struggle was finally ended and she died in the triumphs of a Christian faith. The bereaved friends have sympathizers in this time of great affliction.

Transcriber’s Note: Her gravestone shows she was born in 1863; however, that doesn’t agree her being in her 31st year. Also her maiden name is spelled two different ways.
