Died.
EVANS—In Cresco, April 15, 1899, J. L. Evans, aged 59 years 3 months and 15 days.
Deceased was married January 1, 1861, with Miss Cynthia A. Goss, and to them weve born seven children, five of whom are living, two sons and three daughters. The widow who is critically ill, also survives.
J. L. Evans was an upright man and enjoyed the utmost confidence of all who knew him. He was a member of Co. D 6tb Iowa cavalry and served three years during the civil war. He was buried in Oak Lawn cemetery, his funeral being from the baptist church at 2 o’clock p. m. Monday afternoon.
