Mrs. Nancy Spencer died January 15th at midnight, in Cresco, Iowa, aged 75 years. Nancy Duckworth was born in England, Jan. 22, 1824, was married to Amos Spencer July 15,1842. They came to America in 1857 and to Cresco in 1870, where she has since resided. Since the death of her husband, Aug. 21, 1892, she has lived with Mr. and Mrs. Marsh, who have been true children to the childless woman. For many years she has been a great sufferer, and almost helpless from rheumatism, but has endured all with a Christian fortitude remarkable for one so aged and afflicted. She was a member of the Congregational churoh. Rev. Holmes conducted her funeral at the Marsh residence Tuesday afternoon and she was buried in Oak Lawn cemetery.
