G. N. Russell departed life last Thursday and was buried In Oak Lawn Saturday the funeral being held from the Episcopal church, the services having been conducted by Rev. A. V. Gorrell. We are without data as to the nativity and early history of deceased, but have known him for nearly a generation. He was a candid man, truthful, honest and honorable, above a mean or dishonorable thought or act. Of course he was not possessed of a large block of worldly goods; men of his class rarely are. A widow and one or two young children survive him. They inherit the rich legacy of a husband and a father whose name and memory is worthy,of rememberance{sic} and of immitation{sic}.

Transcriber’s Note: Oak Lawn Cemetery records indicate this was George Russell and was born in 1843.
