Services today for Dolores Davis, 76
Funeral services for Dolores Davis of Cresco will be held today at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 11 at the St. Joseph’s Worship Center in Cresco. Rev. Kenneth Gehling and Rev. Henry Charipar will be officiating. Interment is in the Calvary Cemetery, Cresco. Lindstrom Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Dolores Davis was born February 26, 1925 at Ossian. Her family moved to Cresco in 1929 and she lived in the Cresco area until moving to the Twin Cities in late 1998.
She married Derrill Davis on July 18, 1945. They farmed north of Cresco, where they raised dairy cattle, beef cattle and prize-winning corn, until their retirement in 1981.
Dolores was active in many local organizations during the years. This included being a board member for the Howard-Winneshiek Community School District, Cresco Public Library, and Evans Memorial Home. She was a member of the Howard County Historical Society, Farm Bureau Women’s Club, Cilo Club and was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, Lynn of Edina, MN; three daughters: Cheryl Basztura of Trumbull, CT, Dr. Constance Davis of Athens, OH, and Marcia Davis-Cannon of Mountain View, CA; Six grandchildren; two brothers: Ralph and Roger Kleve of Cresco; five sisters: Ann Schamweber, Joan Carolan, and Marie McAllister all of Cresco, Jeanette Chwialkowski of Bloomington, Minnesota and Diane Bohr of Decorah.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and her parents, Mary and Hugo Kleve.
