LAWLER - Frank A. Vsetecka, 81, Lawler, died at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001 of congestive heart failure.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin with Rev. John Moser officiating. Lector will be Jerry Winter; gift bearers will be Angie Ewalt and Michael Vsetecka. Cross bearer will be Greg Meirick, Eric Pecinovsky and Ryan Pecinovsky will be mass servers. Grandchildren, Jamie Vsetecka, Ashley Vsetecka, Danny Fuller, Jason Howe, Eric and Ryan Vsetecka will place the pall on the casket. Organist will be Verda Mikota, accompanying vocalists Harlan Mikota and Colleen Busta.

Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery with Quentin Vsetecka, James Vsetecka, Joe Vsetecka, Gary Gorman, Gene Winter and Roger Dreckman as casket bearers.

Visitation will be from 3-8 .m. Friday, Oct. 5 at Conway Funeral Home in New Hampton with a 5 p.m. Scripture Service and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Frank was born May 1,1920 in Spillville, the son of Frank and Stella (Klima) Vsetecka. He attended rural school and also St. Wenceslaus School in Spillville. On April 15, 1947 he was united in marriage with Phyllis Sabelka at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jerico. The couple farmed near Jerico and retired from farming in 1981. They have continued to live on their farm until the present time.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis and seven children,

Larry, Frederika, Diane (Denny) Howe, Mason City, Leon (Barb), Fort Atkinson, Karen (Steve) Maricle, Shell Rock, Keith, Rick and Dave (Robyn), all of rural Lawler; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Ray (Delores) Cresco and Alvin (Patricia), Lawler; two sisters, Marcella and Gertrude Vsetecka, both of Decorah; three sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Winter, Lawler, Wilma Vsetecka and Edith Loberg, both of Cresco.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a granddaughter, Jean Ann Fuller; a daughter-in-law, Carleen Vsetecka; three brothers, James, Cletus and an infant brother, Marcelline; two sisters, Margaret Panos and Elsie Chihak; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Winter and Leonard Chihak.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
