Died.

THOMAS—
At her home in Lime Springs, Thursday. Feb. 17, 1898, Frances, wife of Paul Thomas, aged 76 years 3 months and 16 days.
Mrs. Paul Thomas died very suddenly Inst Thursday afternoon. Her health was poor for the past ten or fifteen years; confined to the house for the greater part of the time. Last Thursday she ate a hearty dinner; afterwards went into the bedroom and came out smiling, then laid down on the lounge, threw up her hand and said "O my God!" and expired without a struggle.
She was buried last Sunday; the funeral services were held at the M. E. church, Rev. Bowder, assisted by Rev. Burgess, officiating. Although the day was very stormy there was a large congregation in attendance. Of her eight children, seven were present, with four grand children; her son Edward of Buffalo, N. Y , could not be present. She was laid to rest in Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Paul Thomas, nee Frances Moore, was born Nov. 1. 1821, in the county of Leeds, Ontario. Canada. Was married to Paul Thomas Feb. 15.1842. She was the mother of ten children five sons and five daughters. Two of the latter died in infancy. In her youth she became a member of the Episcopal church, and did not join any other. In the year 1868 she with her husband and family moved from Grand Island, N. Y., to Howard county. In the spring of 1876 became a resident of Lime Springs and has resided here since.
The children present at the funeral were, Mrs. Bander, Vergil, Ill.; Mrs. Barnes, Chicago; Edwin Thomas, Milbank, S. D.; George Thomas, Fillmore county, Minn.; Mrs. E. A. Whitmarsh, William and James Thomas were living with their parents.
Mrs. Thomas was a good wife and mother, a kind neighbor and well respected. All sympathize with the bereaved, especially the husband, who is 82 years old.—Times Correspondent.
