Rose Marie Heins, age 76, of Kohler, Wisconsin passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday morning, October 17,2017 at St. Nicholas Hospital. She was born Rose Marie Teetshorn, on April 22, 1941 in Cresco, Iowa to Earl and Gladys (Sandvik) Teetshorn. She attended a one room country school until 9th grade then graduated from Cresco High in 1959.

Rose was united in marriage to Frederick James Heins on December 17, 1960. They moved the next year to Cedar Falls, Iowa and raised 2 sons. Her spouse worked many occupations and she was a devoted homemaker. She started working as a bookkeeper for Construction Machinery Company for 3 years, Bankers Life for 1 year and then Control-o-Fax corporation in Cedar Falls, Iowa as the Senior Payroll Administrator for 20 years. After her sons graduated high school she and Fred acquired Casino Express/Limousine Service that they were in business for 12 years prior to retiring in Cedar Falls.

Rose and Fred enjoyed camping, bowling and Bible studies. Rose loved her hobbies of ceramics, needlework and creating fabric memorabilia for her family/friends. She was also an avid reader in her retirement.

Rose and Fred were members of Nazareth Lutheran Church for 44 years.

Rose was preceded in death by her Mother (Gladys) and Father(Earl). Rose is survived by her spouse (Fred) of Kohler, WI. Her children Craig (Sonja) Heins MD of Kohler, WI and Leigh (Betsy) Taylor of Farmington, MN; grandchildren, Karianna Heins, Isabelle Heins, Benjamin Heins, Olivia Taylor, Harrison Taylor, Noah Taylor.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at Lindstrom Funeral Home, 119 Second Avenue Southwest, Cresco, Iowa, from 9:00AM -11:00AM with Memorial service immediately following at 11:00AM with Pastor Dennis Hanson from Nazareth Lutheran Church officiating with burial at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco immediately following.

A luncheon will follow at the VFW building 103 2nd ave SE, a block from the Funeral Home after the cemetery services or immediately following the Memorial service for those unable to come to the cemetery.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Kohler Police Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, St. Nicholas Hospital Emergency Room physicians and staff and St. Nicholas Home and Hospice caregivers, Dr. Michael Johnson and the ancillary staff of all the facilities caring for Rose during her 3 years in Kohler.
