Obituary.
Walter F. Gager, son of Nelson and Mary F. Gager, was born in Orleans township, Winneshiek county, Feb. 15, 1866, and died Nov. 10, 1897, after an illness of but three day’s duration, aged thirty years and nine months.
He was converted to Christ in 1892, uniting with the Methodist church, and has been a consistent member of that church until his death, filling the responsible positions of Sunday School Superintendent and president of the Epworth League.
He was one of a family of nine children, and the third to pass through the gates, a sister dying in childhood and another sister dying about two months ago. His parents, five sons and one daughter, still are among us, awaiting the summons of our Heavenly Father.
The interment was on Friday, the 12, in Oak Lawn cemetery, the funeral being from the Morgan church, Rev. Shaffer, of Cresco, officiating.
