Obituary.
MRS. G. N. LIBBEY.
Belle McNabow was born in Canada Dec. 14, 1842, and died in Cedar Falls Iowa, Aug. 31, 1897.
When 14 years of age she removed from Canada to Massachusetts. She was married to Gilbert N. Libbey, July 11, 1872, and came to Iowa the same year.
They lived in Winneshiek and and{sic} Howard counties until four years ago when they removed to Cedar Falls.
She was the mother of three children, two of whom died in infancy. Her daughter Mabel, died Nov. 1, 1895, leaving the home amid the deepest sadness. Mrs. Libbey was a woman of beautiful Christian character of a somewhat retiring nature, but one whose worth as a loving and helpful friend was fully appreciated by those who became intimately associated with her.
She was a sufferer from consumption for many years and during the last year has been slowly and painfully growing weaker.
Her remains were brought to Cresco on Thursday, Sept., 2, for interment in Oak Lawn.
