Iowa Plain Dealer March 26, 1897, FP, C7

In Memoriam.
Sacred to the memory of Miss Rubie Schoonover, who died March 18th, 1897, at Indian Ford, Wisconsin. She was a neice{sic} of Mr. Geo. Story, and last fall made his family a visit, remaining until into the winter and by her pleasant ways leaving many friends in Cresco.

Death, to the believer, is but the beginning of life.
Rubie is sleeping: serene be her sleep;
Sweet be the languors{sic} her senses that steep;
Soft be each sound and each motion that stirs
Brightness and bliss of the angels be hers.
Rubie is sleeping and will not awake,
Not till the morn of Eternity break;
Snowdrops and primroses strew on her breast.
Bury her gently, bear her to rest.
Rubie is sleeping, asleep but not dead,
Painless, immortal, her spirit has tied.
Life everlasting with God to begin,
Safe from temptation, untarnished by sin.
Rubie is sleeping, all peaceful she lies.
Sleeping in death in glory to rise;
Gone for a life with the angels to try.
Dear Rubie, sweet Rubie, Good-bye! Good-bye!
