Mr. John C. Moen who has been sick but a few weeks passed away the first of the week, leaving a widow with four children to mourn his death and the loss of their earthly protector. We have no data in regard to his age, our judge it to have been about the fortys. Obituary will be given later.

John C. Moen, notice of whose death appeared in the PLAIN DEALER at the time, was born in Norway, Feby 13, 1847, died in Cresco January 25, 1897, lacking but a few days of rounding out half a century. He leaves a widow with four children, the eldest nine years. Though he had been in poor health for some time, lung fever and heart trouble were the cause of death.
