Maxine Ruth Falck age 76, of Cresco, IA died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Evans Home in Cresco. Maxine Ruth was born October 22, 1936 in Elma, Iowa, the daughter of Rene and Inga (Olson) Taets. She grew up on a farm along the banks of the Wapsipinicon River in Howard County. She graduated from Riceville High School in 1956. A classmate invited Maxine to a dance at the Innwood Ballroom in Spillville, Iowa where she met Vernon. In 1960 she married Vernon P. Falck at the First Lutheran Church in Cresco and were married for 49 1/2 years. To this union two sons were born, Daniel and Dennis. They lived in the same house in Cresco their entire married life. Maxine was a dedicated wife and mother, and worked from morning until night and loved to cook, bake, and gardening. She still always made time to have fun with her family. One of her favorite times was when the County Fair would come to town where for many years, she went everyday. We would always reminisce about her fair time experiences. Maxine enjoyed the simple things in life; warm breezes blowing through her hair, the fragrance of spring flowers, riding her bike, playing with Tippy, and the first Robins in the spring time, full moons, and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of TOPS and devoted her life to her husband and sons. Maxine died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Evans Home in Cresco. Maxine always had a huge smile...one that warms your heart and kept until she passed away. It is always a favorite memory we will all miss the most. In later years, Maxine needed assistance that her husband and two children gladly gave to her. God was very important to her and is where she has returned. She is survived by two sons, Dennis Falck of Cresco and Daniel Falck of Ridgeway; two sisters, Katie Leverson and Gerry Torney, both of Riceville. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; husband Vernon Falck on May 3, 2011; and a sister, Rosey Kinter.
