June Wilkins was born November 20, 1922, the daughter of William and Ida (Knopf) Duneman. She attended rural grade and public high schools. She was a resident of Evans Memorial Home where she died on January 27, 2013. On April 9, 1942 she was united in marriage to Roger J. Wilkins. They farmed until 1977. Roger passed away November 9, 1977. June remained on the farm until the fall of 1978 when she moved to Cresco. Survivors include her son, Wayne R. (Charlene) Wilkins of Ottawa, Illinois; her grandson, Lee (Tisha) Wilkins of Peru, Illinois; great-grandchildren Jake Walter and McKenzie Hamer of Peru, Illinois; her brother Bernard Duneman of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; her sister-in-laws Viola Gesell of Cresco, Iowa and Rene Duneman of Simi Valley, California and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonel Duneman, Robert Duneman, Marvin Duneman, his twin brother Melvin (who died in infancy), and her sister, Berniece Baer. Private services will be held with burial in New Oregon Cemetery, Cresco.
