In Memoriam.
Julian U. Darrow was born in Girard, Erie Co., Penn., April 28, 1841, Died at his home in Oak Dale, Iowa, August 29, 1895.
He was married in January, 1869 to Fannie E. Slater in Linn, Walworth county, Wisconsin. Seven children were the result of this union, two of whom died in infancy.
In 1869 he moved with his wife and one child on to his farm in Oak Dale, in Howard county, Iowa.
Mr. Darrow united with the Baptist church in Richmond, Illinois, in 1868. On his removal to Iowa he united with the Baptist church of Le Roy, Minn., of which he was a member at the time of his death.
During his tedious and painful illness of two months he manifested a sweet spirit of patience and submission to the will of God. His genial and pleasant face will be greatly missed by his large circle of friends, who deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.
The funeral service was held in the |Baptist church under the auspices of the G. A. II.—the Post, Camp, and Corps attending in a body. The large attendance and profusion of flowers were indicative of the esteem with which he was held by the people.
His remains were interred in the new addition to the LeRoy cemetery. “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord.”—Le Roy Independent.
