Nora Roberts, 93, of Harmony, MN, died peacefully on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the Harmony Health Care in Harmony, MN.

Nora was born on September 26, 1916 to William H. and Ellen "Nellie" (Whelan) Broadwater in rural Harmony. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1934 and on June 20, 1940 married Norris J. Roberts of Lime Springs, IA in an outdoor ceremony on the family farm.

In 1941 Nora and her husband moved to California and in 1945 opened a retail beverage business that continued for 45 years in the Santa Monica area. In 2006 she returned to Harmony to be closer to her family. She enjoyed gardening, especially raising Orchids and Roses. She was a square dancing enthusiast who shared her passion for dancing for over ten years.

Nora is survived by two daughters, Norleen Cooke or rural Preston, MN, and Nola (Stephen) Reynolds of Long Prairie; three grandchildren, Matthew (Tina) Veschio, Scott Tammel, and Shayna Tammel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Mark William, two sisters, and two brothers.

Cemetery:
Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, IA.

Visitation:
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Harmony, MN, and also one hour prior to services at the church.

Service:
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Root River Church of the Brethren in rural Preston, MN with Rev. Lorene Moore, and Rev. John Duball officiating.
