Transcribed from: http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn87058075/1914-11-13/ed-1/seq-1/Mrs. N. Graf, daughter of William and Catherine Chute Gannon, was born in Trim, County Meath, Ireland. May 12, 1841. She came to America with her parents when seven years of age. The family lived for a time in New Jersey; coming west they settled in Milwaukee, where the father died. Later they moved to LaCrosse, where they lived for several years. It was while living in LaCrosse, she was married to Nicholas Graf in 1860. Soon afterwards Mr. and Mrs. Graf went to Prairie du Chien to live and from there to Saratoga, Howard county in 1867. They lived on the home farm until 1890, when the family moved to Cresco, la. Eight children were born to them; two daughters dying in infancy and another, Miss Lorreta, who departed, this life in 1891.
A good Christian mother whose constant thoughts were always with her loved ones for whom she labored so zealously was called to her reward Sunday morning, Nov. 1, 1914.
Truly might it be said of her “She fought the good light, she bath kept the Faith.” May she rest in peace.CARD OF THANKS.
To the kind friends and neighbors who lent aid and sympathy in our bereavement, we wish to extend our sincere thanks.
N. Graf and Family.Transcriber’s Note: Calvary Cresco cemetery records indicate this was Catherine Graf.
