Stephen M. Porter was born In Bethel, Conn., May 14, 1855, and came with his parents to Iowa In 1858, where he has since lived. He died July 30, 1914, after an illness of several months.
He was one of a family of seven children, four of whom survive him: Minnie M. and Cassius, who live in Cresco, Mrs. W. H. Pollitt in Decorah and Nelson at Watertown, S. D. He leaves other numerous relatives and innumerable friends.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Gammons were held at the home of Miss Minnie Porter Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Burial was in Oak Lawn.
