This community was greatly shocked a few days ago when they were informed of the sudden death of Arthur Montague. After an illness of only two days he fell into the sleep that knows no waking.
Everything possible was done to lessen his suffering, but all efforts toward recovery were fruitless and on April llth, 1914 he peacefully passed to the better land.
Deceased was eight years, seven months and twenty-two days old at the time of his death. His mother and one brother survive him.
He attended school with his brother and his progress in school work was wonderful. His teacher and schoolmates keenly miss him but he will be missed mostly by his brother Clarence with whom he was almost inseparable.
He was born in Lourdes, Iowa, Aug. 27, 1906 and spent a careful childhood being called away e’re he was old enough to ply the laboring oar. The funeral services were held in the Catholic church on Tuesday at ten o’clock, Rev. J. Norris officiated. The body was laid in its final resting place in Our Lady of Lourdes cemetery by the side of his grandmother to whom he was much attached in life.
