Transcribed from: http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn87058075/1914-04-03/ed-1/seq-8/Miranda Williams Covey was born at Albert, Grand Isle county, Vermont, June 3rd, 1834, and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Brown March 28, 1914.
The deceased was married to John R. Covey at Albert, Vt., Nov. 20th, 1853 and soon afterwards they came to South Bombay, N. Y., where they lived until 1866, when they came to McGregor, Iowa, and later in 1873, thev moved to Crcsco. There were born to them four children, Mrs. John Brown of Cresco, Mrs. Charles Brown and Mrs. Henry Boughner, both deceased, and Mrs. George Tlllson, San Diego, Cal.
The husband and father passed to his reward March 25th, 1896.
Mrs. Covey was converted and united with the Methodist church in 1894 and was strong in her faith to the very last. She was a good wife, a most loving mother, and called forth the love and respect of those about her.
Besides the children living there remains to mourn her loss a brother, H. G. Williams, a number of grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of loving friends.
