Frank L. Hammond, 89, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Muse Norris Hospice Impatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

Frank was born on February 22, 1920 in Alta Vista, IA to Frank & Elsie (Sheetz) Hammond. He graduated from Alta Vista High School in 1937. From 1942-1945, Frank served with the U.S. Army Air Force in the front lines in the in the North Africa and Southern Italy theaters.

After the war, Frank had a 38 year career in the creamery industry. He married Tamara Egorenko on July 11, 1968. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Tamara, brother, Fern, sister in law, Galina Caldemeyer and their respective families.

Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elsie Hammond, a brother Fay (1942), in-laws, Gregory and Alexandria Egorenko, Val Egorenko, and others.

Cemetery:
Burial will be at New Oregon Cemetery in rural Cresco, IA.

Visitation:
Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home on Monday, from 4-6 p.m. and also one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Service:
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco.
