Georgia Jean Lucas, 78, of Cresco, IA died Wednesday Jan. 20, 2010 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI of natural causes.

She was born July 24, 1931 in Jesup, IA, daughter of George and Matilda "Tillie" Hultz. She graduated from Jesup HS in 1949. She married Dan Mast in 1954 and moved to Tripoli, IA. They moved to Cresco,IA in 1967. They were married for 16 years. She then married Lawrence Lucas in 1971 and they've been married for 38 years.

She was a versatile worker throughout her years. She worked for the VFW and Kent Feed in Tripoli. She was employed at Cresco Hospital as a nurse and a seamstress at Heco, a bartender at Highway Inn. She moved to Nashville, TN for 10 years where she was employed at Red Lobster as kitchen staff and a hostess. When she returned to Cresco in 1995 she was employed at the Plant Peddler until she retired. She was an active member of the VFW Auxillary and the Shares program.

Georgia's life was fulfilled with the love of her children and grandchildren. She was always putting everyone else's needs before her own. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, fishing on the Mississippi, and doing puzzles. She kept a list of everyone's birthdays so that she could celebrate them with a card or gift even as the family kept growing.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Lucas, sister (Jesup) Evelyn Thompson, brother (Cour D. Alexe, Idaho) Butch Hultz, brother (Rochester, MN) Brian Hultz, son (Nashville, TN) Wayne Hultz, daughter ( Woodward, IA) Deb Lange, daughter (Decorah, IA) Karen McIntyre, daughter (Nashville, TN) Julie Mast, stepchildren: Robert Warren (Cedar Rapids, IA), Larry Lucas (Cisco, TX), Debbie Showers(Ulyssess, Kansas), Wanita Brandt(Corpus Cristie, TX), 25 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by: mother Matilda "Tillie" Hultz, father George Hultz, sister Karen Hultz, brother Sunny Hultz, daughter Vicki Sue Mast, grandson Nicolas Nathan Mast, and granddaughter Kimberly Lynn Lucas.

Memorials may be directed to the family at 701 S. Elm Str. Lot 13 Cresco, IA 52136

Visitation:
One hour prior to services at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, IA.

Service:
Celebration of Life memorial services: 11am Saturday Jan 23, 2010 at Lindstrom Funeral Home preceded by an hour of visitation. A luncheon will follow at the VFW hall in Cresco, IA. Her body was cremated.
