One of their first jobs was laying sod at the new courthouse on 2nd Street.
In 1962 they moved back to Iowa to farm with his brother and father. In 1964 they returned to Rochester, where he worked for his brother-in-law, Don Friedrich, for over 26 years. They had an auction, and in 1990 he went to work for Anderson’s Formalwear for 15 years, retiring in 2005.
Leonard enjoyed country music, watching Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune and wrestling. His pride and joy was to keep his lawn mowed and snow plowed with his John Deeres.
