Lillian Ladwig, age 89, of Cresco, Iowa died Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Evans Home in Cresco.

Lillian Yvonne Ladwig passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Lillian was born on September 14, 1927 South of Cresco to Rudolph and Alma (Gerber) Hanni. She is remembered as Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Aunt and friend to many. Lillian grew up on the Hanni family farm where she attended rural school and in 1946 married Elmer (Bud) Ladwig. They spent their first years on the Ladwig family farm near Ridgeway until 1959 when they moved to Ridgeway and owned and managed Ladwig Hardware. Then in 1966 they moved to Cresco and established and operated Ladwig Plumbing until retiring in 1990. Lillian was a very active partner in the family businesses as well as volunteering at Evans Memorial Home, the First Lutheran Church and throughout the community. She loved sewing, making quilts, traveling and spending time with her family, Grandkids and Great Grandkids. She and Bud also enjoyed spending weekends at their cabin and fishing on the Mississippi.

Lillian is survived by children: Susan Ladwig (Don Diddams) of Sarasota, FL and Dale (Colleen) Ladwig of Plymouth, MN; Grandchildren: Jennifer (Bryan) Dahlstrom of Wichita Falls, TX, Kristy Ladwig of Bedford, TX. Great Grandchildren: Quinn and Abbrielle Dahlstrom of Wichita Falls, TX and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Elmer (Bud) Ladwig; Parents: Rudolph and Alma Hanni; Brother: Paul (Ann) Hanni, Sisters: Grace (Floyd) Williams, Marguerite (Orville) Augustine and Lois Hanni.
