Services held for Judy Reicks, 63

Funeral services for Judy Reicks of Cresco were held Tuesday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Worship Center in Cresco. Rev. Henry W. Charipar presided with Msgr. L.H. Reicks and Msgr. Donald Hawes concelebrating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Cresco. The daughters placed the pall. Pall bearers were brothers and brothers-in-law: Darrell, Rick, James, and Randy Wagner and Konrad Verlsteffen and Mark Balk. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Judy, 63, died Friday, August 18, 2000 at her home in Cresco after a courageous struggle with cancer.

Judith Rose Reicks was born July 26, 1937 near Spillville, the daughter of Edward and Gladys (Huber) Wagner. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. She attended the rural school, the parochial school in Spillville and graduated from Calmar High School.

On August 13, 1960 she married Denis H. Reicks at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. They started farming. Judy had a great love of landscaping and gardening. She enjoyed nature and being in the outdoors. She was active in her church community, liked to square dance, and had belonged to a neighborhood card club.

Survivors include her husband Denis; three daughters: Wendy Bohr of Cresco, Cindy Frana of Ridgeway and Carla of San Diego, CA; three sons: Dean of Cresco, Brian of Cedar Rapids and Aarin of Cresco; six granddaughters; her parents: Edward and Gladys of Fort Atkinson; four brothers: Darrell of Calmar, Rick of Protivin, James of Cedar Rapids, and Randy of Fort Atkinson; and two sisters: Jeanne Verlsteffen of Coral Springs, FL and Janice Balk of Waucoma.
