Services today for Clara Polaschek

Funeral services for Clara Polaschek will be held at 11:00 a.tn. today, Wednesday, September 13, at the Nativity BVM Catholic Church in Harmony, MN with the Rev. Steve Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at Cresco. Conway Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers will be: Jim Polaschek, Joshua Polaschek, Adam Rothering, Luke Rothering, Ben Reyburn, Tom Reybum, Andrew Kingsley and Isaiah Kingsley.

Clara, 91, died Saturday, September 9, 2000 at the Harmony Community Nursing Home after a short illness.

Clara Mary Barnes was born August 11, 1909 near Schley in Howard County the daughter of Joseph P. and Mary (Novak) Barnes. She attended the rural school and Our Lady of Lourdes School.

On June 4, 1929, she married Joseph J. Polaschek.

They lived in Schley, Cresco and Minnesota, moving back to Cresco in 1946. Around 1966, they moved to a farm in the Harmony area. After retirement they moved into Harmony.

Clara is survived by four children: Joyce Harris of Cresco; Jeannine Hoag of Harmony; Neil of Cresco; and Joseph of Salinas, CA; 15 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph in 1989; her son, Thomas; her parents; two brothers: Miles and Thomas S. Barnes; and three sisters: Zeneta, Angeline Scheidel and Grace Johnsrud.
