Services held for Fern Eloise Noe, 79

Services were held at First Presbyterian Church, LeRoy, Tuesday for Fern Eloise Noe, 79, who died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at her home in Beaver Township of Fillmore County.

The Rev. Steve Elderbrock officiated at the 11 a.m. services. A private interment will be held at a later date.

She was born May 10, 1921 at Farson, Iowa, daughter of Ray and Anna Sanchez Wiggins. She graduated from Farson High School in 1937 and married Harold E. Noe March 24, 1940 in Chillicothe, Iowa.

They lived in the Grimes, Iowa area for 10 years, moving to the Chester, Iowa area in 1951 where they made their home. She had a passion for gardening and everyone looked forward each spring to seeing her flower garden creations. She loved to cook and to go camping with her husband, Harold and their children, traveling the country in their motor home and spending winters in the Mission, Texas area. She also enjoyed reading and making quilts for her grandchildren. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, LeRoy.

Survivors include her husband, Harold: daughters Marolyn (Merlynn) Hetrick, Cedar Hill, Texas: Carolyn Eddy, Gillette, Wyo., Judy (David) Jacobson, Cresco, Iowa; Joleme (Jack) Beddow, Brownsdale, Minn., and Jan (Bob) Behnken, South St. Paul. Also sons Harold (Carolyn) Noe, Cresco, Iowa, and Bert (Joy) Noe, Rochester, Minn.; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Also surviving are five sisters, Doris Wimpsett, Mankato, Minn., Gladys (Frank) Estes, California; Pearl Tygart, Fairfield, Iowa: Marilyn Jean (Delmer) Elder, Ottumwa, Iowa, and Frances (Marshall) Clausen, Marion, Iowa: three brothers, Harold (Loretta) Wiggins, Packwood, Iowa, Warren (Donna) Wiggins, Hedrick, Iowa, and Richard (Suzie) Wiggins, Sun City, Arizona. Also a best friend Ardis Souhrada.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter. Melanie; brother, Harlan, and a sister, Naomi.

Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home, LeRoy, was in charge of arrangements.
