from Elma library collection assembled by Marian (Marr) McGeeNEW HAMPTON - Francis J. Lowe, 74, New Hampton, died Friday, June 9 of natural causes at his home.
Funeral Services were 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Hampton with Reverend, Marvin Salz presiding. Ann Bennett was organist and accompanied by the North Washington Men's Choir. Hymns included: "On Eagles Wings", "How Great Thou Art", "Only A Shadow", "You Are Mine" and "You Are Near". His sons placed the pall and granddaughters Jill Dockendorf and Erica Lowe were gift bearers. Lector was Cory McDonald.
Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery with Steve Lowe, Doug and Gregg Eschweiler, Roger Simons,
Robert Reicks and Tony Tentis serving as casket bearers.Visitation was from 3 to 8 .m. Sunday, June 11 at Conway Funeral Home in New Hampton where there was a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. scripture service.
Francis Joseph Lowe was born July 23, 1925 near Elma, the son of Milo Charles and Verona (Conry) Lowe. He attended the Lourdes School and was married June 5,1945 to Jean Eschweiler at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Following their marriage they farmed in the Maple Leaf area. In 1964, they moved to New Hampton where he was employed as a truck driver. Francis established the Lowe trucking business in 1969. He was owner/operator until his retirement in 1990 at which time two sons became owners of the business. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; four sons, Jim (Rosalee), Stacyville, Bob (Bev), Lansing, Bill (Rose), New Hampton, Mike (Joyce), New Hampton; three daughters, Sharon (Ed) Rowe, Shakopee, MN, Marilee (Gerry) Mishak, New Hampton and Jan (Jim) Dockendorf, New Hampton; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Monica Reicks, Cresco and one brother, John, Ionia.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, James and Joseph Lowe, both in infancy.
