Funeral services for Jack Lingbeck of Cresco were held on Sunday, August 27 at 12:00 noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco. Rev. Bruce M. Hobert officiated. Interment was in Cherry Grove Cemetery, south of Spring Valley, MN. Pall bearers were his nephews: Allen and Roger Vrieze, Paul and Duane Douglas, Allan and Delbert Mandelko. Conway Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Jack died Thursday, August 24, 2000 at the Regional Health Services of Howard County Hospital.
Jack Lingbeck was born April 27, 1915 in Cottonwood County, Minnesota, the son of John and Mae (Courthouse) Lingbeck. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He grew up in Lime Springs.
On July 27, 1938 he married Lanora Krueger in Cresco. Jack worked for the Garrison Company, the Skelly Oil Company in Cresco as a delivery man of fuel oil, and the Cresco Public School as a custodian.
He spent his leisure hours with his hobby of woodworking.
Jack was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, watching wildlife, hunting and fishing.
He was a member of the Wildlife Club, having served as president.
Survivors include his wife Lanora of Cresco; one daughter Betty Bluhm of Longmont, CO; one son: Gary of Rochester, MN; three grandchildren; and one sister: Anna Vrieze of Spring Valley, MN.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Hyo, Otto, Lymn, Clause, and Bill; and seven sisters: May Monthy, Alice Hailing, Grace Vrieze, Dena Douglas, Annie Lingbeck, Heneretta Lingbeck, and Ida Lingbeck.
