Services held for Alvina Johnson

Funeral services for Alvina Johnson were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30 at the Jerico Lutheran Church, Jerico. Interment was in Jerico Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Ken Dethlefsen officiated. Pall bearers were: Merle Halvorson, Paul Johnson, Spencer Johnson, Merle Hereid, Lowell Johnson and Roger Johnson.

Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Alvina, 91, died Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at the Winneshiek county Memorial Hospital.

Alvina Caroline Johnson was born April 2, 1909 in Howard County, the daughter of Fred and Bessie (Johnson) Amman. She attended rural school there. She was baptized and confirmed in the Jerico Lutheran Church. She served in many ways as a member of the Ladies Aid.

On April 13, 1927 she married Carl Johnson at the Saude Parsonage. They farmed in the Jerico area. Alvina moved to Cresco in 1983. She is survived by one son: Cletus of Cresco; one daughter Donna Wold of Princeton, MN; five grandsons; and nine greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, one son: Norman; and her parents.
