Services were held March 31, 2000, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lime Springs for Theodore "Ted" Dieken, 75, who died March 28 at Evans Memorial Home in Cresco.

The Rev. Linda Johnson officiated at the 2 p.m. services. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lime Springs.

Mr. Dieken was born May 6, 1924 on the farm near Lime Springs, the son of Theodore and Grace Niewald Dieken. He attended school in Lime Springs and was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. On June 12, 1950 he was united in marriage to Alice Goodman, and the couple farmed near Lime Springs. She preceded him in death on May 8, 1986. On June 26, 1988 he was reunited in marriage to Doris Croskrey and they continued to live on the farm.

He farmed all his life and especially enjoyed the buying and selling of cattle and equipment.

Survivors include his wife, Doris; son, Kenneth, Davenport, Iowa; two grandchildren and a brother, Fred, Lime Springs.

Lindstrom Funeral Home, Lime Springs, was in charge of arrangements.
