CHESTER - Harry S. Adams, 85, Chester, died Wednesday, Feb. 2 at his home of natural causes.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chester with Rev. John Moser officiating. Guitarist was Sister Joyce Kolbet, who accompa¬nied those in attendance singing "Here I Am Lord”, "Prayer of St. Francis", "One Bread, One Body" and "On Eagle's Wings". Lectors were Phil and Kevin Kolbet. Eucharistic ministers were Jerry and Barb O'Donnell, gift bearers were Steve and Rosalie Christensen. Serving mass were Robyn Kolbet and Nicole Brown. Jim and Mary Adams placed the pall.

Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Alta Vista with Roger Kolbet, Robert Kolbet, Dan Gebel, Dale Kolbet, Ken Kolbet and Tom Gebel serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were Leon Kolbet, Don Gebel, Kevin Kolbet and Phil Kolbet. _

Visitation was from 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4 at Conway Funeral Home in Elma, with a 4 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary and a 7 p.m. Scripture Service and also an hour prior to services at the church.

Harry Steven Adams was born March 13, 1914 near Deerfield, the son of Samuel and Anna (Waters) Adams. He was raised near Deerfield by his grandparents and attended country school near his home. After his schooling, Harry operated a farm near Deerfield. He married Evelyn Kolbet on April 9, 1947 at St. Bernard's Church in AltaVista. After their marriage the cou¬ple resided near Deerfield before moving to a farm near Chester in 1951. Harry retired from farming in 1970 and began doing carpentry work. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Chester and the Knights of Columbus Council in Elma. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn, Chester; two sons and their wives, Jim and Mary Adams and John and Carol Adams, all of Rochester, MN; four grandchildren; one great-grand¬daughter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Gene Adams.
